Sure, the roars are a bit meek and unsatisfying (seriously, amp up the fierceness of those roar animations, increase the volume and make the screen shake a little! These are MONSTERS, not your GRANDMA.), but the gameplay is satisfying. You can perform satisfying, vicious executions on low-health enemies, you can pick up buildings and smash your enemies in the face with them, and you can perform some nice meaty super attacks called Cataclysm Attacks. What at first appears to be simple, clunky movesets will become clearer to you as you learn how to use each move to perform ever-longer combo strings. In a way, there is a method and flow to it that feels a bit like learning to play Monster Hunter (although not quite as high a skill floor I would recommend resigning yourself to the idea that P2 will not be able to use a controller at all and you will likely need to give them keyboard access instead.
