About Legend Piece:
I’m not going to give this game a thumbs down because it has a small player base and viewcount. I don’t want to run around quashing budding developers before they get a chance to shine. At the same time, I actually wouldn’t recommend this game. It has many, many issues. For starters, it has problems with the controls. As solid as the hitbox detection is, the entire game feels pretty clunky. I’m used to hack and slash style gameplay, but the minimalism hurts this game quite a bit. The lack of direction in your attacks combined with the lack of differentiation between each character makes it lack depth. That’s my real issue. Most of the ‘difficulty‘ comes from colored enemies that own shields. These enemies are invincible to every kind of damage until you break their shield using the correct, coinciding color of attack. This means if you miss the specific subset of attacks you need to use to hit the enemy, you have to run around and wait until your ability comes off cooldown. In fact, most of the game’s ‘correct‘ style of gameplay is just that: run around and wait for your cooldowns. This gives the game a very, very slow pacing. You’re given very little in the way of options with your gameplay. You just…have to hit the specific move at the right time. I understand that some people enjoy this simple albiet punishing gameplay style. For me, it feels very dated at this point, and I expect a bit more dynamism from the titles I frequent. Compared to dozens of action RPG’s or roguelites, this game is lacking in many respects.
